This data helps us understand social sustainability better. Social sustainability is critical alongside economic and environmental sustainability for a poverty-free, livable planet. Social sustainability increases when more people feel part of the development process and believe they and their descendants will benefit from it. Our data identifies who is excluded from a dignified life due to identity (like gender or ethnicity), circumstances (such as age or displacement), and socioeconomic status (like extreme poverty). It also provides information about trust and cooperation in communities, their resilience to shocks, and how they legitimately resolve disagreements, especially for the most vulnerable. Collected at national and project levels, the data is disaggregated to highlight the experiences of the most socially vulnerable groups across multiple contexts.
